NHBPM Day 23: “Clean out your fridge or closet in written form. What’s in there? How does it reflect your personality?“
I don’t want to.
GAH! It’s so hard sometimes to write what you’re told to.
Probably also why I don’t do any paid gigs in blogging.
*shifty eyes*
My fridge (I just typed, “K7”. That is how ridiculously tired I am today after a hellaciously stressful week.) is pretty sparse, as we don’t have the gingers this weekend and I’m nursing a brain that’s going to explode…
Jalapeno Pepper Jelly. With cream cheese and Triscuits, makes for a yum-mo snack.
Something green I swore I’d eat. Again. And didn’t. Again.
Berries. Always have tons of berries. I love to puree them and freeze them as a base for my protein smoothies.
Cheese. Stocked to the sweet-cheeks because there was just a sale. Must be golden cows out there or somethin’.
Orange juice. For the smoothies.
Apples and oranges.
Broccoli and cauliflower.
Sensing a theme?
B-O-R-I-N-G.
Brought up on a plain Jane palette.
Do you know how hard it is, being a Type 2 diabetic…having to take medication to control something I could, in fact, do by my damn self?
I eat about three different kinds of vegetables.
Most of the fruit, although a natural sugar, bump the blood glucose too high.
Back to the three different vegetables.
If I find new recipes online, I often forget to buy the stuff, or, more often than not, don’t know how to even pick the damn thing (push, squeeze, pull…what’s ripe?)
If I remember to buy the stuff, I forget to use the stuff.
Honestly. *shaking head*
I am my own worst enemy made even worse on days weeks like this where I swear the stress was SO unexpected it feels like the cosmos hit me upside the back of the head with a cosmic clue-by-four.
Today? I didn’t eat much of anything. Couldn’t stomach it.
I collect recipes I know I’ll never use…but…just in case.
My goal is to try harder.
I choose to try harder.
This post was written for Wego Health’s National Blog Post Month, 2012.
OMG I understand this totally. Instead of the diabetes I’m a vegetarian and I don’t really like vegetables >_<
I sort of wish my dad exposed me to more crazy stuff when I was younger, and not just grilled cheese on wonder bread. I can't eat whole wheat bread and the multi-grain is only just a bit better.
And the collecting of recipes? my bookshelf is groaning under the weight of my cookbook collection. When I'm looking for a new recipe? forget the books, the internet to the rescue! *hangs head*
Don't you have your meal planning calendar of doom? Maybe pick one day a week/month in which you will try something new. Oh and have something quick on hand in case is goes tits up. ;P
