I haven’t posted yet this year…why not start it off with an easy project?
I received an email a couple of weeks ago from Splitcoaststampers with the following tutorial:
SCS Weekly Inkling #447: One Sheet ATC Book
What a perfect and quick idea to put up a project with my just-recently arrived Close To My Heart consultant kit! \m/ I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!! 😉
Skills: Knowledge of using a paper trimmer, adhesive, scoring
Time: At least an hour, up to your own limit of techniques/products used
But…what the heck is an “ATC”???
Glad you asked. Because, if you want to get your creative on, making an ATC can be a great way to showcase a new technique you’ve learned, a new product you’ve acquired, or just to git’er done.
Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern trading cards baseball cards, or 2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (64 mm × 89 mm), small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets. ~ Wikipedia
The sky’s the limit when it comes to the style. It’s simply your own. Sometimes, you’ll find crafters who participate in an ATC Swap…you would make a trading card for each person plus yourself who are participating. You literally trade cards. Each person gets one of yours…you get one of each participant’s cards.
This little book was simply to highlight some of the products I received in my kit.
~ Seasonal Expressions
Assorted Edges Stamp (p. 16)
Workshops on the Go: Hopscotch Scrapbooking Kit (p. 21)
Extra Thick Twine (p. 35)
Puffies (p. 35)

Shimmer Trim (Teal) (p. 172)

What’s also nice about a mini ATC book like this as a consultant, is the opportunity to showcase products AND techniques in one place, without overpowering a layout/card/project with eleventy-billion eye-overwhelming products.
True story. 😉
Is there a product or technique that you’ve heard about, but are afraid to try? Let me know and I can feature it on an upcoming post!
